The scoop on who we are…
Some people stumble into their calling. Kurtis Gazin found his at the intersection of a classroom, a kitchen, and a really good scoop of ice cream.
Kurtis spent years as a first grade teacher before bringing that same energy into the restaurant world. It turns out that keeping a room full of six-year-olds engaged and making and serving ice cream use a surprisingly similar set of skills. When the chance to own Crozet Creamery came along, it felt less like a leap and more like the next logical scoop.
We officially took the reins on January 1, 2025, but Crozet has been part of our story for much longer than that. We have family here and this community has had our hearts well before it had our ice cream. Becoming part of it in this way is something we do not take lightly, even if we do take our toppings seriously.
Our promise to you is a simple one: everybody is welcome, every scoop is worth it, and you will always leave just a little happier than when you walked in. That is what this place has always been, and that is exactly what we plan to keep it.
We are so glad you are here. Pull up a cone and stay a while.
